This one's for Scott

Confession: On our way home from dinner on Saturday night I let Ella watch part of a South Park episode. It was the only cartoon that Caleb had on his iphone and she was just so cute sitting there holding the little iphone so contently. If it helps it was the episode on Cartman creating a Christian rock band (an episode any worship leader needs to see by the way...we do have a lot to learn from the people that mock us). Anyway, after much scolding from others in the car, I did take it away. Shame on me! Sorry Ella... I know you liked it.

The Prince of Egypt
Nov/10/2007 10:06 AM
I am still not adjusted to the time change so I have been getting up pretty early...5:30am on a Saturday morning. Pretty sick, huh? And we don't even have kids yet! Anyway, I turned on the television and the Prince of Egypt was on. Have you seen that lately? That cartoon is awesome! I was so moved by it and the power of God...and this was simply portrayed in a cartoon. I can't imagine what it must have really been like to be a Hebrew in those times.
The need for the power of God is an interesting thing...of course we always need Him...but it is only in the difficult times that we are sincerely aware of our great need. All this to say...I am really aware of my need for the power of God than ever before and watching this cartoon brought to light the amazing faithfulness of God.
It's a violent story and beautiful part of history that I long to explain to my children. Now, I'm just trying to figure out at what age our kids will be able to watch this movie...I was thinking 3 or 4. Kids relate to God in such an interesting way. I asked Ella (2 years old) the other day, "Where is Jesus?" She said, "In my book." I love that...now I can't wait for her to know the rest the story.
10 year reunion.

Last weekend was my "Class of 1997 Reunion." Hard to believe it has been 10 years! It was so much fun to catch up with everyone. This is form a brunch at my parents house. I think we all look the same...check back on that one in 10 more years.
This is sad Caleb before the reunion dreading a night of meeting people he doesn't know:)
