The wonderful game of musical chairs surpasses all language barriers. This game was part tof VBS in the colonia. It was so much fun to watch! We had an awesome week 2 in Reynosa...12 families got new homes, Brandon traded a hammock for a bed (see pictures in album), and I got the amazing opportunity to wash the feet of three Mexican women. In the past I though that washing someone's feet was something beautiful that Jesus did as a symbol of His love and service...and it really served a purpose because the disciples feet were actually dirty. It always kind of irritated me when Christians today did this. What sacrifice is it to wash a clean middle class foot? Is it really necessary or dirty from wearing Nikes? What did it benefit? Well, I got the real deal last week. It was one of the muddiest weeks in the colonia and our feet were covered in mud. This was especially true fo the Mexican women who primariliy wear sandals. It was an amazing opportunity that blessed me more than it blessed these women and I will truly never read John 13 the same way again. In a small way I was able to experience the humility of Jesus...and it blew me away.
